The Thompson Show

He was perhaps the most expressive player in tennis history.

Although Clay Thompson won't be remembered by American fans for his results on the main circuit, he will be remembered for having shared his emotions with spectators around the world.

408th in the world at his best, the Los Angeles native has long been one of the most promising players on the American college circuit, becoming one of the most iconic players at the prestigious UCLA university.

Passionate about his sport, Thompson unfortunately had too few appearances on the ATP circuit, but the few matches he played on the secondary circuit quickly earned him the reputation of a wild player who gave his all on every point, to the point of making the commentators laugh.

Having become a coach and then an investor, Clay Thompson will always be remembered by many as one of the most eccentric tennis personalities of recent decades.

One thing's for sure: in a sport too often characterized by the impassivity of its athletes, Thompson brought a certain touch of freshness.
